A roof is the part of the house that, when it works, you forget about — and when it doesn't, becomes the most important thing very quickly. We do roofing the way we'd want it done on our own homes: real underlayment, proper flashing, no rushed tear-offs in the rain.

- Gutter coordination — we partner with local gutter installers when a tear-off and gutter replacement should happen together
Our process
- Free inspection. We get on the roof (or use drones for steep pitches), photograph problem areas, check the attic for stains or daylight, and tell you what we see.
- Written estimate. Shingle brand and color, underlayment type, decking allowance, square count, timeline.
- Schedule with weather in mind. Tennessee weather is what it is. We schedule with a buffer and we don't tear off a roof if it's going to storm before we get the dry-in done.
- Tear-off, deck inspection, dry-in. Any rotten decking gets called out and priced before it's covered up.
- Underlayment, drip edge, starter strip, shingles, ridge vent. Done in the right order, with proper nailing patterns. We don't skim on nails per shingle.
- Magnet sweep and cleanup. Every nail we can find — driveway, lawn, flowerbeds.
- Final walk and warranty paperwork.
Materials
Standard for us is GAF Timberline HDZ or Owens Corning Duration architectural shingles — both come with strong warranties (30+ years) and handle Tennessee weather well. Synthetic underlayment instead of felt. Ice-and-water shield in valleys and at eaves. New galvanized drip edge. We can quote upgrade options (impact-resistant shingles, metal roofing) if you want.
Timeline
A typical asphalt-shingle tear-off and replacement on a single-story Chattanooga-area home is 1–2 working days. Two-story or complex hip roofs run 2–4 days. Repairs and leak fixes are usually a single half-day visit. Storm-damage insurance work can take longer because of scheduling around the adjuster.
